Eye allergies and vernal ophthalmia are common diseases that occur as a result of the eye being exposed to an allergen
Causes:
Winds carrying dirt and dust
Rising temperatures
Pollen, which is often abundant in the spring
Some types of scents and perfumes
Pet dander
Wearing contact lenses for long periods and not taking care of them
Symptoms of allergy and vernal ophthalmia:
Eye redness and eyelid swelling
Itching sensation
Increased eye secretions
Feeling of dryness
Increased tear production
Treatment:
The ideal treatment for allergies is to avoid their causes as much as possible.
Lubricating eye drops and drops containing antihistamines, which your doctor will prescribe for you if necessary. Lubricating drops reduce eye dryness and itching, while antihistamines reduce the body’s reaction to allergens
Medications, which include antihistamines and decongestants.
Do not wear contact lenses for long periods, and if you have to use them for long periods, be sure to use lubricating drops and artificial tear drops while wearing them throughout the day to avoid dryness and irritation
Be sure to wear sunglasses during the day to avoid harmful rays and to block some of the pollen and dust that are present in the air.
It is preferable to use an air purifier inside the house, and close the windows during days when pollen, dirt, and dust are widespread.
Be sure to stay away from pets at home, especially your bedroom, and be sure to wash your hands constantly to protect from animal hair that may be stuck to them, and change clothes immediately after handling them.
