Cataract treatment:

1- Laser cataract surgery (femtocataract):

This method is considered the latest among the methods of treating cataracts, and it relies on the femtosecond laser to create a small opening in the cornea through which the opaque inner lens is also broken up by the laser.

2- Phaco cataract surgery:

Phaco is a technology that relies on ultrasound waves to break up the cloudy lens of the eye and is the latest method of treating cataracts.

3- Cataract surgery:

It is the removal of cataracts through larger incisions than previous operations and the implantation of a scleral lens inside the eye. This method is resorted to in the case of weakness in the internal cells of the eye that cannot tolerate the use of ultrasound or laser waves, or in neglected cases of cataracts, which has led to an increase in the hardness of the cataracts. To the point that it may lead to damage if an ultrasound device is used.

After breaking up the lens and getting rid of the cataract, the doctor implants the appropriate lens for the patient, which is chosen according to several factors that will be discussed in the next article.
